As well as my incredibly unhealthy make-up addiction I also have an obsession with perfume. I love it and could happily spend hours (literally) browsing the perfume stands in department stores. My 'signature scent' is Midnight Poison by Dior, my 'special' perfume is Chanel Chance Eau Tendre and my everyday perfume is well, anything that's cheap. At one point it was Cinéma by Yves Saint Laurent, which I ran out of and could never justify spending that much to replace it because it was just for daytime.

That was until I discovered this little gem in Marks & Spencer recently called Perfection. And that's exactly what it is. It's an exact duplicate of Cinéma, smells amazing and is so cheap I just couldn't turn it down. I paid £6 for 25ml at first and was so impressed (well, that and it ran out quite quickly...) that I went back and bought 100ml for £12.
It was completely by chance that I came across it, Amy had mentioned getting a cheapy version of Viktor & Rolf's Flowerbomb in an M&S discount outlet whilst away with her family and that smelt exactly like the real thing so I had a quick browse when I was in town. Before then I'd steered clear of perfume from there, thinking it would be overly floral and too much like what my Grandma would wear. How wrong I was!
The smell is relatively long lasting for the price paid, obviously it doesn't compare to the real thing but it definitely does the job. I tend to squirt quite a bit so perfumes never quite last as long as they should when I'm their owner but that's just a habit of a lifetime - if I can't smell it on myself I'm convinced nobody else can either!

Apparently Marks & Spencer have a few other replicas, so next time you're in town I'd go and check them out because you never know, you might find your favourite (cheaper) perfume!
What are your favourite perfumes and signature scents?
On a slightly different note, I've been getting lots of Formspring questions just recently - keep them coming, I love answering them. It's also the last week of my giveaway so click here to enter if you haven't already!

I love own store perfumes, I think Next do beautiful ones to, their Pink is one of my faves, a tenner for 100ml, bargain xx
ReplyDeleteI love sweet and/or citrusy scents - Dior Addict Shine and YSL Elle Ltd Edition are two of my faves. I've hinted (aka asked outright) for Beyonce Heat and Lady Million this year, I'm really liking them!
ReplyDeleteI love Cinema and Flowerbomb - trip to M&S is in order! xx
ReplyDeleteOoh awesome to know... Flowerbomb is one of my Top 5. Would be amazing if they replicated Coco Mademoiselle...
